What kids will work on in the sessions depends on the topic of that camp day, what grade they are in, and if they have been at MakerKids before. In general, experienced kids will have the opportunity to work independently on our online curriculum while newer kids and MiniMakers can follow along with our Mentors in guided lessons and projects.

The kids get to play outdoors at a nearby family-friendly park during full day programs, like PA days and camps. All our programs integrate time for offscreen games, activities and working with others. Kids will design and brainstorm together, as well as test each other’s inventions on and off screen. We have a strong emphasis on soft skills, not only technical skills. We have stretch breaks and eye breaks to encourage kids to have good screen hygiene. Kids will leave with well-rounded skills and experiences that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

If they are registered for a camp that includes Minecraft, it would be great if they could bring one (a Minecraft Java edition account)

No previous experience is required for most of our classes – just a desire to make things! Our instructors will show your kids how to use any programs or materials safely, and foster lifetime skills with technology. Kids with more advanced knowledge will be provided with more advanced instruction.

We follow all COVID protocols mandated and recommended by the government.
