Bring your imagination to life! Kids in this program will create their very own app using a coding language called Stencyl. They will learn how to engineer an app, design the look and feel, understand key game features and problem solve with others.
By coding and designing their own app, they can create different worlds, complex features and customize their own characters.

Does your kid love video games or understand the basics of Scratch? In this program, kids will dive into Stencyl, a video programming platform inspired by Scratch. After learning the new abilities and complexities that Stencyl offers, kids uncover advanced coding concepts, such as multiplayer games, complex data structures, chatbots, animation and Photoshop. Kids will design their own world, build multiple levels and will be able beta test their app.

21st Century Skills
Students will meet other like-minded kids and will be able to collaborate on apps together and play together. They will learn, both, technical and soft skills like: engineering, coding, communication, logic and game design.
Like Scratch, Stencyl uses visual coding language (block-based coding) and prepares students with the foundation for many other programming languages like Python Java, and C. They will leave with broad comprehension of logic, flow and design. Contrary to what many think about video games, this class will provide an opportunity to experiment, share and collaborate in an open-format classroom.

Does my child need experience coding?
Our classes are open to new and experienced kids of all backgrounds. With our small ratio of 1 instructor for every 8 kids, our instructors will be able to work with each child’s individual needs. We go over coding fundamentals and may hold breakout sessions for beginners and advanced students. It is recommended that kids have computer skills (e.g. typing).
Do we have to bring our own laptop and supplies?
We will provide all the materials needed for the program and activities, which may include laptops and any software.
What will my kid make?
Kids will learn how to code different inventions. They will be able to prototype their own video game, app and even real world objects (robotics).

Ignite your inner inventor! Spend a day with us learning coding, robotics and Minecraft. Kids will work with others to learn technical skills key to the real world and 21st century skills. Kids will develop their own project in each topic.
Bring what’s on the screen into the real world. Using code, students will program objects, robots and machines. Kids can learn how to make a robot play golf, race on their own and more! They will work with switches, sensors and lights.
Students are immersed in a world of creativity, innovation and real world skills. In our Innovation Camps, kids are introduced to all our three core STEM topics: Robotics, Coding and Minecraft.
