Whether your child is just getting interested in STEM topics or has been deep in the trenches for some time now, it’s always a good idea to keep their minds fresh with different topics and projects. Your child may have an endless list of ideas they want to see become a reality.
At MakerKids we know that kids’ imaginations are constantly working. That’s why we are always introducing new programs and ideas for them to dive into. Our PA days offer kids an excellent opportunity to think out of the box and create something unique.
What can my child expect at PA Days?
MakerKids holds PA days throughout the year as a way to empower kids to be creators. Each PA day has a different theme as kids learn a variety of STEM skills through robotics, coding, and Minecraft projects.
As with our other programs, we want kids to find their inner talents and skills that they can use as they grow and enter the real world.
We split our PA Days into three different age groups; grades 1-2, grades 3-5, and grades 6-8. Each grade level will get a specific topic to work on. An example of how we split up a recent PA Day included having grades 1-2 concentrate on neutrons, while grades 3-5 focused on protons and grades 6-8 on atoms. No matter which grade level your child is in, you can expect a 1:8 Maker-Mentor student ratio or better. We know that kids need individual attention and have plenty of questions so we always want to make sure we have plenty of staff on hand. We run police background checks on all of our mentors as well as give them first-aid training. All of our mentors are also triple-referenced checked and highly trained in the STEM area they are teaching.
The program runs from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to give children enough time to work on their projects. Before and after care is also available. When the weather permits we also take the kids to a nearby park to get fresh air.
PA Days at MakerKids are the perfect combination of incorporating STEM lessons with the crucial real-life skills of problem-solving and working as a team. Many kids also make new friends with similar interests as they explore our programs. If you’d like more information on PA Days at MakerKids or any of other programs and camps, call us today at 1-844-MAKERKIDS for more information. We look forward to speaking with you!
