We are all spending much more time at home. For many of us, it’s much more than we’ve ever spent before. This means there is a good chunk of free time for everyone at home, especially kids. While distance learning takes up some of the time, there are still many more hours of the day to occupy. This is a good opportunity to take online classes to either learn a new skill or continue learning previous skills. At MakerKids, we have made our coding, robotics, and Minecraft classes virtual to fit the changing landscape.

These classes are being offered on a weekly or daily basis. If you’re unsure whether your child should take online coding classes for kids on a daily or weekly basis, let’s break down each so that you can make the right decision for your family.

Daily Online Coding Classes for Kids

As you can imagine, a daily coding class provides more continuous learning than a weekly class.  At MakerKids, our daily online coding classes for kids are two hours long. This is just the right amount of time to keep them engaged without getting bored. These classes are offered Monday-Friday for kids in grades 1-8.

Each program has a mentor to student ratio of 1:5 or better. This ensures that each child is getting the right amount of attention while they’re online learning. Daily programs are a great way to provide structure to your child’s day in an otherwise unstructured time that we’re dealing with. If they previously took a coding class, robotics, or Minecraft course, this is an excellent way to keep the momentum going.

Weekly Online Coding Class

If your child wants to get the benefits of online coding classes for kids but isn’t sure if they want to do it every day, then the weekly class may be better suited for them. Our weekly class consists of one one-hour class per week. These classes have a mentor to student ratio of 1:8 or better. This still allows children to get the attention they deserve and work on their coding skills.

All of our virtual online classes provide children with the instruction they need to not only learn a specific topic but to also make their ideas come to life. They quickly learn that if they can imagine it, they can create it. That’s the amazing thing about our MakerKids virtual classes. They allow kids to exercise their minds and find an outlet for all of that pent up energy.
