Award Winning STEM Programs

Coming Soon to Mississauga

MakerKids is proud to announce its expansion of award winning STEM classes and camps to our newest location in Mississauga

Coming to the Erin Mills/QEW area in Summer 2025

1900 Fowler Drive, Mississauga

MakerKids is proud to offer fun and educational STEM day camp programs at three GTA locations this summer. In a MakerKids camp, you can expect your child to build foundational technology skills such as typing and internet safety, along with specialized skills in Coding, Robotics, Minecraft or 3D Design.

Summer Camps run from 9am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with optional before and aftercare. We also ensure we take kids to a local park (weather permitting) each day for outside activity time to keep kids active. Frequent screen breaks are taken throughout the day to foster a positive relationship with screens and technology.

Mini Makers Camps

Grades 1-2

Mini Makers introduces kids to our core technology topics: Coding, Robotics, and Minecraft. Your child will get to work on a variety of projects each day in small groups. They will design their own video game, create robotic inventions, explore the 3D design world of Minecraft, and do STEM experimentation. Each day your child will build on the skills they’ve learned, leaving with transferable technical and social skills.

The daily cross-discipline exposure focuses on valuable skills and allows kids to see progress as their abilities grow. Their projects tie back to this theme to reinforce the importance of interconnectivity in technology.

Idea Incubator STEM Camps

Grades 3-8

In our Idea Incubator STEM Camps, kids will dive into our three core STEM topics: Coding, Robotics and Minecraft.

If you’re looking for inspiring STEM education, this is the right place! In each camp, kids make something awesome, create their own projects and collaborate with others. Build leadership skills, meet other kids who are makers, make your own project, and more.

Coding Camps

Grades 3-8

Coding is an important language to learn. With the demand for STEM workers increasing, learning coding from an early age is a sure way to gain an advantage in today’s competitive career world. Kids code games, websites and more. They learn how computers work, exercise creativity, and build resilience and perseverance when trouble-shooting their code.

Kids will learn everything they need to know to code their very own game: character development, storyboarding, animation, environment and level design, beta testing and, of course, coding.

Robotics Camps

Grades 3-8

Design the world around you! In our Robotics programs, kids design, plan, program, and build electronic inventions while using a robotics microcontroller and learning how to code. Kids better understand how everyday objects around them work and have the opportunity to bring their ideas to life. Kids make creations that they previously only dreamed of. Make lights light up, motors spin, and code a ‘robot brain’ to make something awesome. Kids see the results of their code before their eyes. They realize that they can make things that others can use. Past projects: nightlights, motion-activated alarms, rovers, and more.

Minecraft Camps

Grades 1-2, 3-8

3D Printing camps are offered as a subsection of other camps and is most often offered as a part of Robotics or Coding Camps. Camps with 3D Printing will include 3D Printing in the name of the camp.

Kids learn how 3D printing can be used in the design of their creations and model their own creations to 3D print on site! Kids make creations that they previously only dreamed of. Kids see the results of their code before their eyes. They realize that they can make things that others can use.

At the end of the week students get to take home a 3D printed creation! (Non Electronic creation. NO Electronics included.)

Weekly Programs

A great opportunity for kids to connect weekly with each other and their instructor, build skills over time, and develop long-term friendships.

Camps & PA Days

Camps and PA Days are a great way to try MakerKids or a new topic out, or to have the chance for a deep-dive into specific topics and a fun experience!

Private Classes

Your child can connect one-on-one with an instructor on an ongoing basis for individualized learning and support, and move at their own pace.

Parties

Rated in the top 10 birthday parties by Today’s Parent. Both kids and parents love our birthday parties. Expect a party that’s both fun and educational.

Kids Will Learn
The original tech programs for kids

MakerKids founded the first makerspace for kids in the world in 2010, and went on to pioneer an industry and transform education. Today, kids can access MakerKids’ award-winning programs on Coding, Minecraft and Robotics from the comfort of their own home.

We’ve been invited to give talks about our work around the world, at SXSW, MakerCon, Maker Faire, TEDx and more. We have also written a book about our work, called Every Child A Maker – as well as a children’s book called The MakerKid.

We’ve trained educators and helped school boards and libraries implement makerspaces.

We’ve run programs for Google and Twitter, for their employees’ kids.

Your child will experience award-winning curriculum built by engineers, entrepreneurs, and graduates of the Singularity University program at NASA, refined over 11+ years.
