If you haven’t already noticed, here at MakerKids we have three different weekly programs to benefit your children. We have a robotics program, a Minecraft program, and a coding program. Our after school kids programs start September 19. How do you know which of these is the best fit for your child? It may simply be a matter of your child’s preference. Read on to find out!

Kids Robotics Programs

Our robotics camp is perfect for kids who love to build things and understand how they work. They’ll learn about electronics and computer programming. In this program, your child will design, plan, program, and build an electronic invention while using an Arduino and learning to code the robot to perform certain actions.

Robotics is a rewarding, rapidly expanding field and has many applications. Computers and robots are all around us today – if you want your child to learn about the amazing gadgets of this generation and more to come, this program is for your kid.

Kids Minecraft Programs

Kids love Minecraft and may already be playing it before they’ve even seen our program. We’ve seen some amazingly creative kids come to us. Our Minecraft program will teach them how to work with people in the real world to collaborate on group projects and buildings.

Using Minecraft, we will also teach them many advanced technical and computer skills. They will learn how to install “mods”, or modifications, into the game’s code. They’ll also learn more coding by creating powerful server plug-ins and build their own servers. If you want your child to learn about core computer programming concepts as well as how computers and servers work (all while socializing and making new friends), this program is for your kid.

Kids Coding Programs

Finally, our coding program teaches kids different coding languages, including Scratch, Stencyl, Caterpillar, and Python! They’ll get to code their own video games and apps. Additionally, our coding program is interdisciplinary; they’ll learn design, logic, math, computer skills, teamwork and creativity. If these sound like skills you want your children to learn or that they are interested in, you should go with this program.

If you have any questions about any of our programs, or still aren’t sure which one you should choose, feel free to reach out to us by calling 647-247-1678, emailing [email protected], or by filling out the form on our contact page.
