Online learning for kids has really taken off due to the pandemic. Many kids are doing their entire classwork online, while others are taking part in programs and after school activities. Whichever it is, kids are learning how to thrive and learn in a virtual environment.
At MakerKids, we’ve recognized this and are offering many virtual programs for kids. One such program is the virtual school program. Educators can take advantage of these programs to bring in a new element without kids having to leave the classroom.
Here’s a closer look at our virtual school programs.
Virtual School Programs at MakerKids
During our virtual school programs, kids will learn the foundations of STEM while working on their problem-solving skills and social skills. Kids create their own inventions and learn that anything is possible.
Kids can take part in virtual school programs focused on coding, robotics, and Minecraft. There’s even a mini makers program for our smallest students. No matter which program you choose, you can expect:
- Accommodations for up to 40 students
- First-aid trained instructors
- Background checks on all instructors
- Extensive training
- 1:10 mentor to student ratio or better
Coding
During our coding program, students will learn how computers work and how to be creative and come up with new ideas. They get to see how their ideas will look and what needs to be tweaked to make them the best possible.
They learn everything they need to know how to code their very own game including character development, storyboarding, and animation.
Robotics
The robotics program focuses on designing, planning, and programming all types of inventions as well as learning how to code. Kids get to know how everyday things around them work. They may be surprised at how much STEM is involved!
Minecraft
If you have a lot of students who are into Minecraft, you may want to consider a virtual program that focuses specifically on the game. When it comes to online learning for kids, you need to find areas that they are most interested in. This will help them to be engaged and really love what they’re doing.
During the Minecraft virtual program, kids learn how to make Minecraft even more amazing. They pickup core computer programming concepts while learning more about Minecraft.
Mini-Makers
We know that our smallest learners want to know more about STEM too. This is why we offer a mini-makers class for students in grades 1 and 2. This is taught on their level so that they can grasp what’s being taught. Kids are exposed to all key STEM topics so that they can begin learning what areas they may be most interested in.
All of our virtual school programs make online learning for kids fun and engaging. At MakerKids, kids learn that if they can dream it, they can make it. They learn the skills and tools they need to make it happen. If you want to find out more about our virtual school programs, contact MakerKids at 1-844-MAKERKIDS or visit us online.
