What MakerKids Field Trips Have to Offer
MiniMakers Field Trips
These field trips are geared toward those in first and second grade. Kids will learn how to create and make things using various platforms. Lessons are based on a STEM education, giving students a strong foundation on how computers work. They learn how to make an interactive Microbit robot, a video game in Scratch, or a custom Minecraft world. They see how by using logic and design, they can create something amazing!
Coding Field Trips
Coding field trips are best suited for students in grades 3 and up. Here, students will learn about fundamental coding concepts. They can create video games and work on other fun projects. Our field trips are extremely flexible in regards to what children can create. If your students have ideas of what they would like to do, let us know before your trip so we can best accommodate you.
Robotics Field Trips
Robotics field trips are geared towards kids in grades 3 and up. Here, students learn how to use a Microbit microcontroller to see how the basics of controlling electricity work. They also learn how to code LEDs to show different images. Students are shown how to code their interactive robots to react to different inputs.
Minecraft Field Trip
Minecraft field trips bring fun to the forefront for kids in grades 3 and up. In the Zoo Keepers-themed trip, kids learn how to design a zoo with the appropriate environments for the animals. During the Amusement Park-themed trip, they use World Edit plugin commands and redstone circuitry, to design all the activities you would find at a theme park. The best part about our Minecraft-themed field trips is that they can also be geared towards topics that the students may be learning when they visit.
