Why We’re Bringing Our Award-Winning Programs To Leaside Kids Coding, Robotics and Minecraft, A First For Leaside!

There’s a first for everything and at MakerKids we love “firsts”. We were the first makerspace for kids in North America (based in Bloor West, Toronto), and now Leaside will be our first franchise location as we expand across the country.

Why did we choose Leaside for this momentous first? It’s simple, Leaside is an impressive, family-focused community located in North Toronto. From excellent schools, community centres, parks, arenas, and a plethora of local businesses, Leaside has it all – and we want to add the best in kids’ tech education to the mix!

Most notably is Leaside’s strong parent community — hands up if you’ve been part of the South Leaside Monday Group, Leaside Moms or the booming Leaside Community Group on Facebook. There are so many amazing parent networks within the neighborhood. These are parents who recognize the importance of bringing the very best in “STEM learning” to their children. The ability to combine science, with technology, math and engineering, is a 21^st century skill.

MarkerKids Leaside will offer unparalleled, award-winning programs and camps in Coding, Robotics and Minecraft. Kids will develop a positive relationship with technology. We know from research that learning these skills at a young age can significantly shape their future.
