As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we at MakerKids want to take a moment to highlight and celebrate the women who are raising their children with the best education possible. We recognize that the role of a mother is a significant one, and we want to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of these women. At MakerKids, we believe that mothers are some of the most incredible superheroes out there. They raise and nurture the next generation, all while pursuing their own passions and dreams. We want to take this opportunity to celebrate all the amazing women who are raising their kids with their best abilities and giving them the gift of education, especially in STEM fields.

At MakerKids, we are committed to supporting women in STEM fields, and we have taken various steps to promote this cause. We are proud to be a company that is led by women, and our team includes experienced female mentors who provide guidance and support to girls in our programs and to women team members.

Additionally, we provide mentorship and speeches at women’s conferences and girls’ conferences. We’re passionate about sharing our knowledge and insights with other women and girls who are interested in pursuing STEM careers.

We’ve also offered programs for girls’ groups at subsidized rates, ensuring that every girl has an equal opportunity to learn about STEM. We’ve also invested in women’s businesses and provided mentorship – we’re proud to support women entrepreneurs by investing in their businesses and providing resources and guidance to help them succeed.

We believe in promoting a gender-neutral environment, and we do not want to influence young girls towards or away from any specific activity or topic. We understand that language is powerful, and we avoid using gendered language or terminology that may discourage girls from pursuing certain roles or topics. Additionally, we also make sure not to included gendered language in our job descriptions that has been shown by studies to dissuade women from applying to certain roles that include that language.

We are delighted to share with you some inspiring stories of young girls who have participated in our programs and have made remarkable progress in the field of STEM.

Serena, at age 12, used wearable technology to create a hat that lights up, and her work was featured in OWL magazine.
